Because domestic news sources aren’t telling those stories. BBC, Reuters and Guardian do, but the fascist MAGAtainian followers believe that only a Fox can tell them what’s true and isn’t, but they don’t understand that Fox is actually a British cosplay tabloid treasonously dressed up in an American flag.

I love this term, Jason. I'm going to start using it, too.

I hope you will concentrate on the narrative possibilities of the promotion of the Quiet New Deal, not just the facts that are the reality. "Joe Biden fought for X when the GOP tried to do Y, and his fight was successful. Good guys against bad guys--much more persuasive than "actually, wages are rising."

Thanks. I think you can see that in this piece already.

yes, but it has got to be more that "trump will stop fact1 fact2 fact3 fact4." START with a bad thing and relate it to your basic Average American. Then show the fix and preemptively refute the typical GOP response.

Here's an example

"For years, the rich have been ABLE to cheat on their taxes and an alarming number DO cheat. I don't mean "find all the deductions that favor them or use whatever legal means there are to lower taxes." I mean CHEAT--make up things, leave out things. They have been getting away with it because their tax returns are complex, sometimes [hundreds] of pages--nothing like the average American's filing. Those take a long time and a special expertise to audit, and the IRS has been strapped for cash to hire people capable of doing so. Biden fixed that. He gave the IRS a huge boost of funding specifically for hiring such expert auditor. They have already recovered [whatever the huge figure is].

They didn't get this money from raising taxes on anyone. These were taxes already due but not paid. They aren't going to be increasing the chances of auditing YOUR normal return--if you've ever used TurboTax you know that AI can already figure out when a smaller return has something in it that is likely to cause an audit. They are going after the big guys. The new auditors will be specifically aimed at complex returns. No one is going to be checking, more than they used to, your charitable donations to see whether the sweater you gave to the Goodwill should have been listed at $20 rather than the $35 you listed

We know that the big guys are not just Republicans: this boost is aimed at anyone of any party. The GOP know, however, that it has more adherents with the kind of returns that will make it easier to cheat, and they really want to stop this. Biden is not going to let them. Trump likely will. [whatever 2025 says about this] "

That's what I mean by a story.

It’s amazing to me how regular people and even poor people vote against their own interests all the time.

Well, people vote on values, and that's as much about communication as action. So communication matters!
