They aren't going to be increasing the chances of auditing YOUR normal return--if you've ever used TurboTax you know that AI can already figure out when a smaller return has something in it that is likely to cause an audit. They are going after the big guys. The new auditors will be specifically aimed at complex returns. No one is going to be checking, more than they used to, your charitable donations to see whether the sweater you gave to the Goodwill should have been listed at $20 rather than the $35 you listed
We know that the big guys are not just Republicans: this boost is aimed at anyone of any party. The GOP know, however, that it has more adherents with the kind of returns that will make it easier to cheat, and they really want to stop this. Biden is not going to let them. Trump likely will. Well, people vote on values, and that's as much about communication as action. So communication matters!
