From my perspective as a Brit observing this from across the pond I fear that you are all too correct in your analysis. But I also fear that this is too much for many people to swallow. “Can it really be that bad?” they will say to themselves. Surely not. Because facing such change is really scary. I’m glad I’m not facing it - yet.

It absolutely can be that bad. 😎

My real fear is that it can be worse.

That fear is palpable. I think most folks don’t have any idea what’s coming. All I can say is buckle up. It’s gonna be bumpy ride. 😎

We were talking about this last night with some American friends. It seems like most Americans are sleepwalking. They think the election was like any other. If they don't like what they get, they reason, they'll vote people out in two or four years like always. They don't realize they voted for a completely different form of government, a gutting of our norms and rule of law, and life in a kind of Christo-fascist police state. And when we say these things, they shrug and say, "Oh, you're being hysterical. This is America. That stuff can't happen here."

While I believe it is valuable to use our time and apply the right pressure, I also think the only thing that will break this spell is real suffering. Life-altering consequences people who didn't take this seriously and/or didn't vote will never, ever forget. Like my aunt who survived the Great Depression and washed her plastic baggies and tin foil and reused it until she died.

I'm not saying to roll over. I'm fighting alongside you. But a big part of me is ready for the people who voted for this to Find Out what they actually voted for, because they will not escape the consequences.

Part of me agrees with you‐-but the other part thinks: (a) We who despise Trump and all he stands for will suffer right along with those who voted for him; (b) the wealthy and powerful who voted for him won't suffer at all; (c) many who voted for him will attribute the suffering to someone or something else due to poor critical thinking skills and/or lack of accurate information. And if Trump and his kind manage to completely destroy American democracy, the lessons learned won't mean much. --But I guess we have no choice but to find out what the suffering actually will produce. I am 75 years old--what a way to live my final years as an American.

I’m not saying you and I won’t suffer. I can only try to help everyone prepare for and perhaps reduce their own individual suffering until the “coronation.” I can’t control who people blame for their own choices. I only know that some people will blame the people who deserve it. Not everyone will, but I believe enough will.

Voting Americans did not win or lose an election. The United States lost THE war to a foreign adversary who leveraged domestic terrorists. Any resistance has to start from that realization, otherwise the ‘fight’ will be disabled by wishful thinking there will be a mid-term, or four year election that’s going to depose putin. Forget trump, he is a distraction so the real threat remains amorphous.

I believe if removing illegal aliens becomes a active action , by definition Donald would qualify as an invasive species of the infectious viral type from a undemocratic space , thus declared as an epidemic of lies and misinformation could be deported to a land of isolation such as Greenland / our future state to be as an initial citizen .

The magats have gone a fabulous job manipulating so much misinformation that people can’t see or hear the truth. Even though many of us have warned of the impending shit show. People often only learn with consequences. Trump learned - he had no consequences for his actions and his actions are correlated to that. It may take a shit show for people to wake up and smell the sewage.

See the problem with resistance is we need leverage like elections in 2026 and 2028 without that fear to drive Representatives and Senators we have nothing and right now they aren't scared because they don't think we will have elections ever again once he gets the reins. They have nothing to worry about as long as they kiss his ass and his pick to lead maga after he dies. They don't feel beholden to the voters for future success. At least how I see it
