The attack on Medicaid and particularly food stamps strikes me as a long term ploy to make poor people homeless. As we know, vast numbers of Americans don't think the homeless are even human. They are written off as drug addled eyesores, better off dead. Without Medicaid they may still be in a house when they die. With no food stamps, the choice of how to spend whatever they have managed to earn is food or shelter. Most will have to choose food. And trying to KEEP working when homeless shoves them even farther down, into joblessness.

And with no residence, it is hard for the homeless to vote. Even if you were a trumpite but are now disgruntled, you are no danger at the polls.

2026 may give us a Democratic Congress, even so. But will it give us a Congress able to pass veto proof changes to the next budget?

Sigh. After two sets of shingle vaccines, I've managed to get shingles. My outlook has gone from cautiously optimistic to gloom and doom. But will do what I can to follow up with your suggestions.

I had shingles, while I had cancer. The shingles were worse than the chemo

I have a “mild” case and cannot drive because it is in my neck and I can’t turn my head enough to see the rear view mirror. Totally house bound, while caring for a disabled daughter.

So, I hate to point this out, but the reason there is no "moderate republican" only maga is because all the "republicans" on the fence of despicable maga legislation/votes were already strong-armed by maga to vote their party line—threatened with being primaried. The fact that they bent from these kinds of threats means that they already believe their own party has more power over them than their constituents.
