We all (and minorities & women even more so) are taught from an early age to respect our elders, to respect authority and to follow the rules if we want to move ahead to the next grade or opportunity. No Child Left Behind has reduced our educational standards to the lowest possible common denominator of memorization and limited understanding so that many do not even have the ability or sufficient context in which to analyze their choices and make rational decisions. As a result we have a dumbed down lower wage workforce trained to view any question of the power of government or law enforcement as a rebellion rather than our a civic right, even duty, as citizens of a democracy. We must change people's perception to one of empowerment, which is exactly where your thought process led you. Now that our eyes are open, we must continue to educate others and help them find that sense of empowerment, that spark of ownership, in themselves and act on it. When we get to the tipping point, there will be no stopping us.

The extent to which MAGAhas altered our nation’s tolerance for various religions and their practice is frightening, in that the only religion tolerated by the cultists is Christianity. This obvious prejudice against any other religion does not provide protection for those who believe in anything besides Jesus. It also shows how difficult it will be to alter America’s toleration of any other religion besides Christianity to where citizens will feel free to live their lives according to how their “higher power” directs them to. I am not a constitutional scholar but I do know that’s the standard set out, and I also know the Senate Republicans will NEVER vote for convicting any of their inJustices. If they won’t convict Trump, neither will they convict Thomas and Alito. What does that leave? Maybe just indict them for corruption. Criminal charges without impeachment are possible….I think.

I like her! I lived in SF when she was the DA and the crime then was not out of control like it is now! Kamala Harris is no joke! She is a force and brilliant too! The idea of ignoring the court is both freeing and terrifying. Can we agree to ignore the Extremes and pay attention to the others (well, then, there is the 5th Circuit). If we ignore ALL courts, where are we? What if someone decides to start excluding Jews from country clubs or even schools? What if a state passes a law that says all LGBTQ folks must be expelled from the state? Or passes a law that to vote you have to show attendance at church for 5 years before you can register--and only a Christian church of Evangelical persuasion, Mormons and Catholics need not apply.
What we (or decent judges) can do, and what I hope Merchan and Chutkan do, is distinguish the hell out of anything that comes up. Find myriad ways to say "oh, that doesn't apply here because." The Extremes will be forced to look more and more oppressive; finally there may be some real momentum to expand the court an/or impeach the dreadfuls --because we know crooks gonna crook. Thomas isn't going to give up his vacations.
One thing I think states CAN do is ignore "nationwide" injunctions that aren't addressing a real emergency. Is an abortion drug sale enjoined by some sole judge in TX? Ignore him.
