Seeing the downballot investment, I want more, that’s only $500k, but it’s something good, a very good start . . . it sounds like it will go to governors and AGs, they need it, but we need to spread it out.
Reading Jess Piper and Michele Hornish and Jessica Craven, $5000 downballot can make the difference. And it’s not just about winning that race this year.
And while reading them, this slow old noggin also realized that therefore, downballot candidates and their volunteers and supporters are . . .
. . . the cheapest, most enthusiastic, most relentless, and most reliable campaign staff that the top state and federal candidates could possibly want.
The DNC ought to raise a fund specifically for that, if they are worried about redirecting funds ( they are not ) . . .
Where your reasoning failed (easy for me to say in hindsight) is that while there is never extra money, there are inherent diminishing returns on any particular avenue. Money is more productive where there is currently less money. That and social proofing is improved when the entire ticket is buttressed. This is still effectively money spent to elect Harris specifically.
Reminder there are scammers pretending to collect donations for Democratic politicians. Personally, I'd donate directly on the politicians website, or to the Democratic Party website.
Is money the most important ingredient in winning this election? I don't think so. I believe face-to-face, person-to-person conversations will be key. I'm getting up the courage to talk to my 94-year-old Dad in Michigan who watches Fox all day, has Trump stuff around the house, but has all his marbles and isn't too far gone. My 88-year-old Mom may be a lost cause, however. But I'm going to have a heart-to-heart with her, too!
I'm glad to see this proactive, forward-thinking investment from the top of the Democratic ticket.
It's a great step. Raising a billion dollars in a few months can inspire some creative thinking!

thoughts? best luck to US — b.rad
Yeah, this DNC is involved in this cash transfer but the direct raising for cash I'm only seeing done by efforts like Every State Blue https://everystateblue.org/ or this from Oath: https://app.oath.vote/set?p=states&ref=em_20240903_states&utm_medium=email&_hsenc=p2ANqtz--eZj3VPEj2ZXt27MxRERbstiYlx1lwBGTtrqR7b_VPTmWN1QRdaIZGGfgT3WhaaTcecQa6bRmK7XREBTy_8t0xKx-bpw&_hsmi=322947044&utm_content=322947044&utm_source=hs_email and https://Blue24.org and I'm trying with https://www.erlywrm.com/get-down
This is fascinating

Yeah. The money frees candidates up to do what is the key -- go talk to voters.
And good on you for trying. Eager to hear how it goes.
