It's the propaganda from Fox drilling into the weak-minded that Democrats are "bad". These women don't think past that or use faulty logic like my sister did 20+ years ago to vote for Resident Bush.
I've been hollering at them for a decade to wake up! Not once have they said that Trump didn't legitimately win 2016 election. Because of their timidity & reluctance, it allowed Trump to tell stings of lies & grab that narrative to use in both 2016 & 2020. Anyone who has bad actors like GOP ops & foreign actors HELPING them win (& Nat'l Enquirer we didn't know about) did not win the election & in effect STOLE the election. It is legitimate to say that. Where would we be had cowardly Msnbc just grabbed that narrative off of him???
Why did we have to wait until now, to learn about the National Enquirer?? Where were all of the investigative journalists. We know NBC sat on catch n' kill for Weinstein. Senator Harry Reid asked the FBI to investigate the 2016 election & said that he believed it was stolen and actual votes, & vote totals were changed. I believe Harry Reid & this has all come to pass in the past 8 years. If the FBI did investigate....they scuttled it at some point, were told to stop (by Barr) or decided to stop. That is not ok. FBI needs to be investigated for corruption. No media company should ever get to do what the National Enquirer did & continue to exist.
The surveillance technology aspect of modern society, deployed against any potentially fertile female, IS terrifying! Stalking is being redefined as a state activity.
An additional aspect that is massively different from the early 1970s is ubiquitous pornography. All of our kids have easy access, not just to a dog-eared old copy of Penthouse letters, but to close up videos of consensual and non-consensual acts that make it seem like aggression and pain are normal, “barely legal” is the epitome of desirability and revenge is a dish best served naked.

I agree. They are moving way too slowly while allowing Facebook & Twitter to spread dangerous health lies & political propaganda. They've hauled Zuckerberg up to congress...what? three times? They gave him a slap on the wrist each time. Why couldn't they have demanded that Zuckerberg get off the board of Facebook et al, until he manages content better? Fines aren't going to make people change. Rules & laws of social media need to be inacted. The FCC is toothless, I guess. They need to continue to regulate TV media....even if it's just the big three to stop propaganda. I REFUSE to lose my country to propagandist pro-Putin fascist demagogues.
You are forgetting one thing. Trump has lost support in the GOP, as the voters of Nicki Hailey show. It is Trump that has to make up that 20%+ he needs. I do get your point about the cheating & blatant corruption of the GOP that goes on & that's why I always say to simplify this to people by simply pointing out that the Republican party has been captured by fascist extremist corrupt groups that are actually anti-democratic. The very rich are within that group. The shorthand is to simply point out that the GOP has been corrupt for 70+ years. They've stolen 3 National elections & countless Governorships in Florida, WI, Ohio, PA & MI. Every time this same group gets power they abuse it & try to bring this country down. People have got to stop voting for Republicans until they stop relying on lies, corruption, false narratives, distractions, & dirty tricks.
